How To Find Us

Brisbane Arts Theatre’s intimate theatre was originally opened in 1961 and is an iconic Brisbane venue. It is located at 210 Petrie Terrace, just a short walk from Roma Street Station & Parklands, Caxton Street, and the Normanby Hotel. The theatre seats 151 in the air-conditioned comfort of our beautifully crafted 1900s original theatre armchairs.

Parking

3-hour parking is available on the right side of Petrie Terrace on weekdays between 9am & 4pm using the CellOPark app. Free 4-hour parking is available on the left side of Petrie Terrace on weekdays between 9am & 4pm, and on either side of Petrie Terrace after 7pm. At weekends, free 4-hour parking is available all hours. On Suncorp Stadium game days, Petrie Terrace is excluded from the Lang Park Traffic Area’s 15-minute restrictions. To avoid a parking fine, do not park in the side streets during events, which are limited to 15 minutes where unsigned.

Alternative Transport

Our complex is located just a short stroll from the Normanby Busway Station and a few blocks from Roma Street Station. We recommend public transport for performances that coincide with an event at Suncorp Stadium.

Masks, The Bar

Our bar offers a selection of boutique beers, local wines and coffee. We also stock snacks and soft drinks, catering for our mainhouse and children’s theatre patrons alike. You can take your drink in with you, but ensure you transfer it to a plastic cup before entering the theatre. It is our policy that alcohol is not allowed inside the theatre during children’s theatre performances.

Box Office

Our box office opens one hour before each performance. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend booking tickets online, where you can choose your seats, see the view from your chosen spot, and even print your tickets at home. For ticketing enquiries, you can contact the box office on (07) 3369 2344.

Accessibility

Our complex is accessible by patrons in a wheelchair and their fellow guests, with dedicated wheelchair spaces in our front row. Booking by phone is essential, so that we may remove the necessary seats prior to your arrival. There is disabled parking at the front of the theatre and we have wheelchair accessible amenities.

Audience Etiquette and Dress Code

There is no dress code! Dress for the weather, remembering our courtyard is outdoors. Performance times indicate the curtain time and you should arrive at least fifteen minutes prior to curtain. Late arrivals may not be admitted. Please turn your phone off (not just to silent) before entering the theatre. Photography and filming are not permitted under federal legislation. Please remember that our actors can see and hear you in our intimate venue.

Reservations and Refunds

Payment must be received for all seats upon making a booking. Reservations are available only for large groups, with cancellation fees where applicable. For group reservations, please phone our office. Exchanges, credits and refunds are issued on a case by case basis.
