Adult Musical Theatre Workshop

The Adult Musical Theatre Workshop is designed for those looking to expand their technique and skillset within the Musical Theatre genre. Students explore topics such as vocal technique and health, truthful performance and character analysis.

Brisbane Arts Theatre is a registered training organisation (RTO 32424).

Course Content

The Adult Musical Theatre Workshop is designed to teach students how they can live truthfully under imaginary circumstances for a given period of time in order to serve a story and vision. Each week, students will work with their tutor in the areas of voice, movement and acting training. Students will explore how script and character analysis, taking direction, performing for consistency, truth and the story, and using emotions, thoughts, body and voice all come together to create an interesting performance.

Performance Opportunities

Students will have the opportunity to perform at the student showcase at the end of terms 2 and 4, allowing them to display the skills they have gained from the course to friends and family. Brisbane Arts Theatre is an active performance venue and an iconic theatre company in Brisbane. Aside from the two student showcases each year, we encourage our Adult Musical Theatre Workshop students to audition for any other shows produced by Brisbane Arts Theatre.

Eligibility

No previous experience is required.
