About Us

Edutainment is our specialty

As a registered training organisation, we value education within the arts sector as an imperative factor to the success of our youth. We pride ourselves on not only our accredited and non-accredited training options, but on the content and educational values of our in-house productions.

When you book a group of students to a Brisbane Arts Theatre production, you'll receive a production resource pack, filled with information on the show, insights into the themes explored within the text, background on the historical and social contexts, and suggested pre-show and post-show activities for your students. A Q&A session with the production's cast and creatives may also be available for your students at the end of your selected performance, subject to availability.

School Groups FAQs

What do I need to tell my students?
It's important for students to understand that our intimate space enables our actors to see and hear every tiny noise and action within the audience. Thus, unless the action calls for a response (e.g. laughter, applause), students should respect the cast and their fellow audience members. All audience members must turn their phones completely off—not just to silent. Photography and recording of all kinds is prohibited under federal legislation (Copyright Act 1968).

Can students take notes?
Students should not take notes during the performance, as this is distracting for our performers and other audience members. Besides, they could miss something pivotal to the plot. Students can take notes at interval and after the show.

What is the age appropriateness of each show?
If in doubt, contact the box office for advice on (07) 3369 2344.
