Performing Arts Workshop

Our Performing Arts Workshop is designed for young performers to get their first taste of the stage, where they can explore the building blocks of theatre and stagecraft. This workshop also offers opportunities to build children’s confidence and encourage them to find their voice.

Brisbane Arts Theatre is a registered training organisation (RTO 32424).

Course Content

Each week, students work within their age groups or skill level on three different aspects of theatre. In an encouraging environment, students partake in group activities fostering life learning skills, including communication and understanding body language, all while learning the fundamentals of theatre performance. In the final weeks of terms 2 and 4, students participate in a student showcase performance where the skills and confidence they have grown over the preceding weeks is showcased to friends and family.

Performance Opportunities

Brisbane Arts Theatre is an active performance venue and an iconic theatre company in Brisbane. Aside from the two student showcases, each year, we stage a successful Children’s Theatre season that we encourage our Performing Arts Workshop students to audition for.

Eligibility

No prior experience is necessary to join the Performing Arts Workshop! Students must be turning 8 years old in the year they enrol, and no older than 12 years old upon completion of the school year.
