Our Musical Theatre Workshop is designed for teenagers who are interested in pursuing the bright and colourful world of Musical Theatre. Students will explore vocal health and technique, movement and develop an understanding of the core elements needed to create interesting and believable characters.
The Musical Theatre Workshop is designed to give students a thorough understanding of some of the many techniques and skills used in musical theatre. Each week, students will work with their tutor in the areas of voice, movement and acting training. Tutors in our Musical Theatre Workshop provide an intensive training experience providing focuses on acting techniques, voice (including singing – solo, chorus and harmonies), movement, puppetry, rehearsal processes and performance.
Students will have the opportunity to perform at the student showcase at the end of terms 2 and 4, allowing them to display the skills they have gained from the course to friends and family. Brisbane Arts Theatre is an active performance venue and an iconic theatre company in Brisbane. Aside from the two student showcases, each year, we stage successful Children’s Theatre and Mainhouse seasons that we encourage our Musical Theatre Workshop students to audition for.
No previous experience is required for this class. Students must be turning 13 years old in the year they enrol, and no older than 17 years old upon completion of the school year. Once students have exceeded the age of 17, they will have the opportunity to move on to the Adult Musical Theatre Workshop.
Workshops can be paid for upfront via our website, over the phone, or by invoice. Payment plans are available – just give our friendly office staff a call on 3369 2344.
